It’s backlash.

Some people might think that the AI backlash won't be solved at all, either because it is too strong or there is too little combined motivation to solve it. Certainly, some problems are or appear relatively intractable, but the above sentiment ignores the reality that over time nature, including business, always evolves into higher order levels of equilibrium.

In addition, Exponentials realizes not only that change takes time, but that change that is disruptive, empowering and democratizing faces great resistance from the status quo powers that be.

Every technology that diversifies power, such as the Internet, also tends to result in some degree of centralization or being co-opted.

For the Internet, for example in media, media has been fractured wide open and you now have a universe of voices (and many more powerful voices), but media is still concentrated largely, despite this.

Across the Internet more generally, the largest companies, such as Amazon and Google, among others, wield collectively the lion share of benefits, profits, and power.

But there is also a 1960's zeitgeist feeling in the air, sometimes well beneath the surface, that institutions have failed people, not fully but too much, that power and wealth have been overly concentrated, and that in peaceful but powerful ways people want to take their power back.

For investors, that means that those who are on the right side of history can return historic, almost unimaginable gains.

The Internet and now AI even more have created, are creating, and have the ability to further create a culture and critical mass of BUILDERS.

People are both tinkering and building at scale. Both in the idea and product realm.

This, combined with the core economic and marketplace principle that money and value always flow to where they are best treated, makes, over time, the AI backlash unsustainable, and the positive resolution of the AI backlash inevitable.

Politics and policy, such as UBI or high basic income may or may not also play a role over time, but technology solutions to the AI backlash are much much much more efficient, in that they do not necessitate the same radical upheaval in societal structures.

From first principles thinking, the most effective solution is the most efficient one.
